Science Operations Wall of Fame Science Operations Wall of Fame Science Operations Wall of Fame
Madrid, Spain, 2019 Madrid, España, 2019 Madrid, Spanien, 2019
After winning a Design-Competition for Science Operations Wall of Fame for ESAC (European Space Astronomy Centre), the installation is completed and ready to use.
B/MA´s design consists of 52 methacrylate circular disk suspended on the wall and arranged linearly in horizontal stripes forming an ordered and homogenous set. The mounting-system is simple and easy to install.
The permanent installation at ESAC/Madrid provides a visually appealing enumeration of the missions ESA has been involved, using the ESA science “red logos”, created by SCI Comms office.
The disks are suspended with separation from the wall and are casting shadows on the background to emphasize their condition of being objects floating in the space. The mission logos are floating in the finite space of the Wall of Fame while the real ones, the satellites float in the infinite space of the Universe.
